Been exactly one year since my heroes came back…
"when we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. its why we started fall out boy in the first place. . this isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. we needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.
the future of fall out boy starts now.
save rock and roll…
pete, patrick, andy, and joe.”
February 4th, 2013.
Exactly one year ago, I woke up on Chris’s floor and checked my phone. The Internet was going crazy. Fall Out Boy was back. I instantly downloaded their single and listened to it all day. This band, denying any activity, had recorded an entire album without anyone knowing. The hiatus ended. In the past year, they’ve put out two albums and eight music videos and played over 100 shows. We waited for four years for them to come back and on February 4, they did. I saw them live in Memphis with Panic and crossed several things off of my bucket life by doing this. One year ago today was one of the happiest days of my life. Believers never die. Fall Out Boy represents so much for me and I owe so much to their music. I’m so happy I can say “hiatus is so one year ago”. #falloutboy #hiatus #youngblood #saverockandroll
so its been a year and how do we account for it? by counting the places we have been? the time logged in airports waiting for connecting flights? by the records? my songs going platinum 3xs?? or a gold record for the album (unbelievable!!!)? or how do we account for the sweat and tears that have gone into this year, ours and yours? is there a way to account the stage dives or the waiting outside of venues in the hot and the cold? in the decibels of how loud you have sung? probably not. they dont give awards or trophies for those kind of things, though maybe they should. instead we dedicate this month to you. you have made this as much as we have. welcome to fobruary.
